Take Action

Yet again the option to ask for a compromise of dogs off leads before 10am and after 6pm is hidden behind another question. So we have created this short guide to help you find the question to request a compromise and inclusivity for everyone which in turn supports local traders who are seeing a decline in footfall due to the May to Sept dog ban on the only safe and accessible Lyme Regis Sandy Town Beach.

Email your COMPLIMENTS
Continue to email your compliments regarding dogs off leads in Winter to both Lyme Regis Town Council and Dorset Council which will go forwards as evidence for the 2026 Dogs on Beaches PSPO Consultation.

How to email your compliments & question
We are aware that COMPLIMENTS, as well as complaints, are being logged by Lyme Regis Town Council, so please CLICK HERE to email BOTH Dorset Council [email protected] and Lyme Regis Town Council [email protected] with your compliments about how inclusive the new dogs off leads PSPO, for example;

 families with young children in pushchairs and dogs
– for those with mobility issues or disabilities and those who unable to use the alternative beaches
 benefit to local businesses as dog owners feel welcomed and return to the dog friendly town

QUESTION: Also ask Dorset Council, to comply with the Equality Act, what provisions have put been in place for those with mobility issue for the period 1 May to 30 Sept when the only safe and accessible Town Beach has a dog ban, meaning dog owners are signposted to adjacent beaches deemed unsuitable for them.
